Poetry Friday - Thank-You Note

'Tis the season for writing thank you notes for all the things you got for the holidays - and maybe there were one or two not on the top of your list. Probably best NOT to write this thank you note, though, even though it is funny.

Thank You Note

I wanted small pierced earrings (gold).
You gave me slippers (gray).
My mother said that she would scold
Unless I wrote to say
How much I liked them.

Not much.
